Founder-GH
Gary Hinton, Jr, started in the turf industry 25 years ago mowing lawns to pay for college. After teaching for a few years, he left that profession to return to the green industry that he loved, as Grasshopper. He grew his knowledge in the turf industry, specializing in sports field management, became the Head Groundskeeper at the Community America Ballpark, home of the Kansas City T-Bones, along with managing his business mentoring his employess in turf maintenance. He personally knows the long hours and details that go into manicured healthy turf, relationships, as well as the need for resource management.
While running Grasshopper and raising a family, Gary combined his passion for turf and technology by utilizing his spare moments to develop GreyHawk over the last five years. Whether it's a golf course, a sports field, or 1800 acres in the mountains, Gary enjoys providing data that can re-shape the way work is done on the ground.
GreyHawk's Mission Statement is simple: To work alongside multiple professionals in the industry advancing aerial multi-spectral technology and ground data to advance water management solutions, monitor soils, turf analysis, and advance GPS chemical application, while using the technology to educate future turf men and women.
